The Car That Started The Obsession

I'm a bit of a car nut. So are other people on here, it turns out. So, what was THE car that got you into cars? Is there a story behind your discovery of this car? Do tell do tell!

For me:

The Shelby Cobra 427 (semi and full competition models)

I remember the first time I saw one was in my junior year in high school. My dad wanted me to go get the oil changed in his buick, so I drove over and got to work on that. While waiting, I got bored and started walking around the place, until I came upon something while rounding a corner of the building. A deep blue, tiny little car with bulging fenders and a gaping maw for sucking in air. And then the owner (one of the guys working there) asked if I knew what it was, and hastily informing me that it's a replica of a Shelby Cobra. And then, the obsession began.

I went through a couple of phases of car obsession. 1st car that got me into cars was the heavily modded V-Dub corrado.

Then when i later got into older cars it was a 34 Ford coupe hotrod. It was one i seen in "Street Car" magazine that had a spiderweb grille. It was an amazing looking car.

Car that got me into cars was a Fiat Spider 2000.

During the summer this one used car lot brings out all of their classic cars to sell and so one Saturday after work two years ago I was looking at the old cars, and I saw this old Fiat with 300k miles for sale, and I absolutely fell in love with it.

I went home, started researching it and other old cars, and then I came across the Datsun Z car and decided it was way better than a Fiat. And now I has one, yaaay. 😊

cars are there to get me from a to b. But motorbikes, well thats a different thing 🙂
