The Mercenaries & Rico Rodriguez vs Solid Snake (Multi Scenarios)

Think nothing of it, I know what it's like to have a thread die because of lack of interest.

You're right on Scenario two, I had my Snakes mixed up there for a minute. Still, the forest offers a lot more stealth options for snake, and since he has access to the optic camo, I still see it going down in the same fashion. If I wanted to stretch it, I could claim that SS has genetic memory of the area, since he's all cloney of BB and stuff, but I won't go there.

That's assuming the mercs are going to be staying in the building in scenario three. I can understand them maybe wanting to fortify, but I think it's just as likely they'll be looking for some vehicles of their own to utilize. If SS is at the driveway, does that make him closer to any of them? Seems like whoever gets a set of wheels/tracks wins this round.

I think you might be underestimating Rex in scenario four. The big gun was obviously the rail nuke, but it still has access to a standard railgun, a pinpoint laser that can sweep across, and the radar dish will help Snake keep an eye on the air craft and just strafe them with rail.

Scenario#2 True, but that could go either way, especially in Jen's case, since she's the stealth & disguise type.

Scenario#3 With Snake starting at a T intersection of a main road and the incredibly long driveway, he can easily highjack any vehicle on the road (Sometimes light tanks use it like a UP light Mantis Tank). But the mercs could easily just hit the motorpool in the time it takes Snake to trudge a tank up that driveway, and the Medium Tanks are kept there... It would depend heavily on wether Snake could start shelling quickly enough to pin them.

Scenario#4 The Railgun being the only real weapon that could clip a jet (REX's missiles where purely AT types meaning they wouldn't be fast enough to hit a jet, and the laser's position means it can't angle high enough (Crotch Gun!) ) means it's going to be very tough to clip the Wraith... Fortunately, there's only one Wraith in the entire map, That leaves the rest with either 2nd best jets (1 Comet and 2 Fergusons) Or ground & naval units

So they do have a stealth specialist? That's good to know, but I highly doubt she's at Snake's level. I say 2 is Solidly Snake's (har har, puns)

What are the chances of Snake grabbing a faster vehicle and beating the mercs to the motorpool? Honestly, I see the mercs having an advantage in 3 because they seem proficient with a greater variety of vehicles. I'm assuming this is a Merc map, which means they'll have tactical knowledge over Snake as well.

So in 4, it comes down to whether or not Snake can drop the jets? 'Cause I honestly don't really see them having much a chance going ground against Rex. Naval units might be a bit of trouble, maybe...heh heh...crotch gun...😄

In Scenario 4, I'd play the mercs like this, one in the Wraith, one in either a Chumera, or a Hammerbolt, or an Ambassador (All helicopter Gunships), one in an AN Anihilator Supertank, (Picture a C&C Renegate Mammoth Tank with high speeds) and the last one in either a Chinese Dynasty Heavy Destroyer, or an AN Alamo class Missile Destroyer.

The Wraith can nitpick Rex, while the gunship can take potshots with Helfire Missiles and Hydra Rockets, the Tank can act as a spotter for the massive bombardment from the Destroyer, and it's goodbye REX/Snake

Didn't even need Airstrikes for that...

Reviving this thread as due to the release of Just cause 2, Rico has got a lot more vehicles and feats to bring into the table. Anyone Interested in seeing how this would play out?

Nevermind.
