Im surprised they havent made a movie about this guy if he was truly real.
He was truly real for me since I was holding his hand and when he passed away on october 12th 2008 at 2:51. Yes I am one of his 3 sons. Concerning a movie about my father a cineast from Alberta ask us permission to make a documentary (another one since one was already made by History Television "The Canadian Liberator"
Already a book about what he did during WW2 is being writen by an Author from the Ottawa region.
Since I can't post picture yet, just do a search on google about Leo Majorlaan or go to my facebook where you will find pictures and info.
Yes he now have his name on an avenue in Zwolle. I was there with my mother, my older brother Denis and my 2 niece on april 14, 2009.
So was he real? Oh yes
To show you what kind of man he was, a few years ago when he was 85, he fell in the stair from the second floor to the 1st floor and he broke is arm in 2 places. We brought him at the hospital and when he learned from the doctor that they where going to keep him for the weekend so he could get surgery by monday he simply refused and ask the doctor to fix his arms right away. The doctor told him that he will suffer terrible pain while he fix his arm. My father told him "I am the only one who can decide if I fill feel pain or not. So you do it now". The doctor fixed his arm without a single complain from my old father. I was impressed (as always) but not as much as the doctor.

I'd like to see a stylized "Hollywood" form of his adventures. Something like Saving Private Ryan...cept it would be better and they wouldn't have to "hollywood" it up because it's already a Kick*ss adventure story from a REAL hero.
