Hell Is Full IC

Two fast moving Humvee's roared down the empty free way approaching the city of Maplefair. The two humvee's began to slow down as the approched abandoned cars on the freeway. They slowly passed the abandoned cars, picking up speed down once again.

Aaron looked out the window of the front humvee. He wondered if he'd made a mistake taking on this mission, but it was too late now. The squad had been told what had happened in the city, but mostly the creatures the roamed the city. No one in the squad had seen the so called 'Zombies', but only tales of the terror they cause. The squads orders were clear. Get in and get out with either Dr. Schultz or the cure.

A sign could be seen as the humvee's sped past. It read 'Maplefair - 7km'. aaron continued to look out the window before turning his head to the other marines the sat in the humvee.

Justin sat in the back of one of the humvee's with his Rifle sprawled out on his lap. He had his Ipod ear buds plugged in while he calibrated the scope on his weapon. Nodding his head up and down as he worked on the scope. This was a slight facade on his part, extradite himself from the situation at hand and focus on a tedious task. Only until they approached the sign of maplefair did it become reality. Chills went down his spine, he tightened up and put his rifle away.

He directed his sight towards the window, seemed to get darker and more dreary every inch humvee moved. Justin pulled the bud out of his ear and slid the ipod in his bag. He slid a strip of gum in his mouth and continued to stare outside.

=Jason sat in the Humvee with Aaron. He seemed relaxed enough with his head down, eyes closed, and headphones on. Heavy Metal Music could be heard through them. He seemed decently armed with an M4 Carbine strapped around him and a Desert Eagle in its holster on his hip. Not to mention the combat knife, easily accesible from his shoulder strap. For all intense and purposes he seemed to be asleep though. However when the Humvee hit a small bump his eyes opened slowly to look out the window, head not turning.=

almost there..

=He said to himself softly.=

"Nothing like a bit of Megadeth toget your heart racing." Aaron tought to himself hearing the heavy metal blast from Jason's earphones. He then turned towards Justin who also listened to an I-pod. Aaron could do nothing else but return to looking out the window.

Almost two minutes later, the city started to come into veiw through a heavy morning fog that started to appear.

"Look alive boys! We'll be in the city in two minutes. You know what to do."

~Lily was sitting beside Jason, twiddling her thumbs. She was good at what she did. But this was a whole new thing. Zombies? She had only heard about them in movies and books. "Well it should be okay" she thought. "Shoot them in the head." She gave a small smile. "Unless its the same as that one Night of the Living Dead where they chopped the Zombie up and it was still wiggling." She went pale as she imagined a chopped up body still flopping around. She shook her head and looked to Justin as he put a peice of gum in his mouth. She looked up at Aaron as he said they will arrive in two minutes. She did know what to do. she checked her gear and made sure it was all in proper working order.~

Jacob sat with a blindfold over his eyes, dismantling his M16A4, and reassembling it in a matter of seconds. He did it over and over again, wanting all of his weapons to be in perfect condition. After a few more times, and hearing that they would be landing in just a few minutes, he took the blindfold off and looked at the people he would be working with. Jacob checked and double-checked the ammo in his weapons, not wanting to miss a beat. Being satisfied with that, he quickly practiced pulling out his blade. "The best glimpse of heaven, is on the way into hell."

Justin was still running around in his head. 2m warning made Justin go limp for a few seconds. But he quickly regained composure. He looked about the vehicle, scoping everyone out. He was either gonna be driving back home with these people,driving to their funerals, or dieing with them. chewing his gum he noticed Lily look over momentarily. He motioned to his bag and pulled out another strip of gum and handed it to her "Did you want a piece? usually steadies my nerves. better than smoking."

~Lily eyed the one with the blind fold. He knew his stuff. She recalled having to do that multiple times during training. After he spoke she thought to herself. "Going into Hell... but I still dotn see Heaven. She then looked to Justin and smiled soflty. It seemed she wasnt much for talking. She reached out and took the gum, unwrapped it, and popped it into her mouth. She folded the wrapper back the way it was and placed it into her front vest pocket. She then gave Justin a smile that basically said "Thanks"~

Jacob looked at Lily and smiled. "It's not everyday that we get a beauty on the squad. Well, at least for me it's not." Jacob joked lightly, just trying to alleviate the tensions of the big mission. "Just remember that we are the most badass of the badasses."

~Lily blinked a bit. But she didnt blush. She was used to such comments. Thanks to Basic training. But the catcalls stopped when she got the highest marks in her squad. And the Respect came when she was with Special Forces. Though she didnt get any special treatment or anything. She gave Jacob a small smile and said only one word.~ .. thanks.. ~Her voice was soft and gentle, and it definatly showed how young she was.~

While the squad chatted amongst themselves, the driver of the Humvee looked up at his mirror and spoke.

"The city's just up ahead Sergeant Sheppard."

Aaron woke from his trance and nodded to the driver before looking across at his squad.

"Okay ladies, The city is 20 seconds away. Watch each others backs, stick with the group and keep your eyes open. Aim for the head and watch your ammo. Hopefully we all get outta' here in one piece."

Just as Aaron finished speaking, the humvee came to a halt, stopping in the middle of the fog that had now grown larger.

the second humvee stopped beside the first, carlos n the mounted grenade launcher. "good morning maplefair!" he yelled aloud. their was a slight groaning sound from the driver. "ah, give it a rest carlos, we can't afford another demot-" the driver stopped speaking and watched as slowly, a small group of ragged people gathered in the streets, 20 metres ahead, limping around and dragging their limbs. their skin was pale, almost dead looking. carlos pulled up the grenade launcher, aming down the sight. "orders sir?!"

Jacob opened his door and slid out, shouldering his weapon, and usied the door as cover.

Justin smacked his face quickly to keep his cool. He opened the door and dropped to the ground. It felt like mud. Justin pulled out his Magnum side arm and left the door open for the others on his side. He still had the gum in his mouth, chews became stronger with anticipation.

~Lily got out of the humvee and lookd at the people approaching. Where these the Zombies she was informed of? Or were there actual survivors? She raised her M4 up and took aim but held her fire. She looked over to Aaron for the go ahead~

=Jason got out of the vehicle, his earphones still on, but the volume turned down considerably. He eyed the zombies as they come to them. He didnt bother to pick up his weapon. He just watched.=

...so... what now?

"Hold your fire.. Everyone."

Aaron waited for for the beings to get closer. His M4 was held tight aiming forward. Suddenly one of the beings fell over, braking their leg. Aaron had an earge to go and help, but stopped himself seeing the being stand back up and walk towards them with the broken bone ticking out og its leg.

"Okay... That's not human."

One of the things made it through the fog, limping towards Aaron. He quickly took his M9 for its holster, firing it into the forhead of the rotting zombie when i came into range.

"Send them back where the came from ladies!"

Justin stood up straight and pulled the hammer back on his magnum. 6 shots a clip but the rounds were pure death. He made aim for an undead coming up a side hill fireing and nailing the bastard right between it's eyes. Not only one body fell but two. Another creature stood positioned exactly behind it allowing him to get a 2 for 1. Justin made aim for another and another.

=Jason eyed Aaron as he fired then looked to Justin. He tightened the red bandana on his head and took aim. He fired once and hit a zombie in the chest. It realed back but other then that didnt seem much phased by it.=

..oh right..

=He took aim again and shot once hitting the same one in the head. It fell down in a heap. Jason didnt smile or relish in the kill. It was once a human who just got unlucky. He fired twice more and two more zombies fell. If there was a group this big just at the edge of the city who knows how many there are IN the city itself. He then started to think, If there were zombies at the edge of the city here who was t osay there where none on the other sides? What if the zombies were leaving the city from more then one point? This could be bad. They had to find this cure, and fast=

carlos pulled the trigger on the launcher, sending grenade after grenade into the crowd. limbs and blood flew out of it and soon there was a thin red mist hanging in the air. "if this is all they can do, then this mission's gonna be hella easy!" carlos stopped shooting, watching through the smoke as a few more body parts fell to the ground. he pulled himself out of his humvee and grabbed his m249, his driver following with an mp5. "so, where we headed?"
