You know one thing that would help? Opening up the vs. boards, like Delph tried to do. That would be awesome.

Nah, I admittedly miscalculated on that one, even after conferring with board members. The issue wasn't the mixture of genres in of itself, it's that the general population of the board isn't mature enough to handle having more choices, and in turn the Mods don't want to deal with the additional tantrums it will inevitably cause. Don't forget I literally got death threats and racist hate mail over that situation and the Captain America Vs. Harry Potter thread. I'm personally level headed enough to deal with it because I'm a grown man, I don't hold any genre biases, and I am very laid back by nature, but asking for the other Mods to do so as well is not on the table. Their tolerance level isn't as high, and the collective maturity of this forum hasn't improved.
Unfortunately this is what we've come to. The new mod discussions were closed off earlier today, and never really got anywhere in the first place.
On a side note, there's some people on KMC who are a bit too happy about this. I'm not pleased with the reaction all of this has received in the other forums and even among the mods. I kinda feel slapped, and I know I'm not just speaking for myself among the mods.
