Darth Plagueis not only had to power to give new life by manipulating midi-chlorians into the very essence of life but he also had the power to see the future (even tough it wasn't a power he could fully manipulate). Knowing this explains why he choose the emperor (Darth Sidious) as his pupil. Seeing the future which shifts acording to your manipulation of the present means he choose his death to fulfill a higher meaning into creating Anakin Skywalker in nowhere and into clashing with the emperor, away from jedis and siths, so he would later be naive enough to give in to the dark side.
One big fact remains, Anakin is really tuned with the dark force in a way, and understands it quitte easily.
Not only Plagueis was a living legend, but he also quitte possibly created another legend (Anakin) by manipulating the very future

Bien que reculés et isolés, les Sorciers de Rhand étaient tout sauf inoffensifs, d'autant plus qu'ils pouvaient user de leurs pouvoirs à travers de grandes distances, en particulier à cause de leur principal don, la Vision Sombre (Darksight en VO). Directement, cette capacité ne semblait présenter que peu de danger, mais ses applications étaient redoutables : en effet, à travers elle les Sorciers étaient capables de discerner dans l'avenir les différentes voies qui conduisaient à la destruction pour les choisir et obtenir le résultat désiré. En général, ce résultat s'apparentait à une forme d'anéantissement.
Dans l'éventualité d'un combat ou d'un danger immédiat, les Sorciers de Rhand pouvaient compter sur un pouvoir redoutable : la Cisaille Obscure (Darkshear en VO). Celui-ci pouvait se résumer par une libération brutale et concentrée du Dark pour accélérer l'entropie. Ainsi, leur cible vieillissait de plusieurs décennies en un instant. Des machines pouvaient donc se retrouver à cours d'énergie, une armure pouvait rouiller et s'effriter, un être vivant pouvait soudain prendre une trentaine d'années et souffrir de défaillances d'organes liées à l'âge.
En cas de conflit à plus grande échelle, ils pouvaient s'appuyer sur une variante de la Vision Sombre. Elle consistait en une sorte de méditation de combat qui permettait au Sorcier de ressentir la proximité de chaque soldat d'une armée avec la mort. Il pouvait alors agir sur l'esprit des individus pour les amener à prendre les mauvaises décisions et ainsi précipiter leur trépas.
Cependant, les Sorciers de Rhand possédaient un moyen plus pratique pour combattre des armées : ils pouvaient diriger des bataillons entiers par une simple pensée. En effet, ils pouvaient contrôler les esprits grâce à la pierre-fumée de Nihil (Nihil smokestone en VO) qu'ils implantaient sur leurs esclaves. Muni d'une couronne conçue dans la même matière, un Sorcier pouvait alors commander à ses marionnettes, baptisées Pawns.
