funny I've NEVER heard a Bond fan in my life till now disagree that its probably the worst of them all.

Lazenby is prolly the worst of all Bonds. The movie itself is actually quite astonishing... maybe they shouldn't call it a Bond picture. 😉

totally agree, that movie doesnt seem to be a bond movie at all.Lazenby was even worse than Brosnan in thats saying a lot. 😆

Lazenby was offered a five picture deal, but he decided not to take it up as he felt that the Bond franchise was coming to an end.

yeah I know that but that still doesnt change the fact that he was completely horrible in that movie.Thank God he turned it down otherwise we might never have had my hero Roger Moore take on the role and he wouldnt have become famous at all.Bond was what made him famous.

Im such a HUGE fan of Moore and his movies,I just finished
buying the tv series that he was in called The Persuaders that his friend Tony Curtis co starred in with him from Barnes and Nobel. Its a great show I highly recommend people to watch.Moore and Curtis had a really great chemistry in that show. Next on my list is The Saint.

I respect your opinion and I wasn't trying to change it. I however find Lazenby and the film fine. All right, he is not the greatest actor in the world but he did not do that bad a job in my opinion.

Also, you are right about The Persuaders. It was a cracking show and the way in which Moore and Curtis played off each other was a joy to watch.

Have you read Roger Moore's autobiography?

Yeah I did. That was how I found out about that show recently cause it was just released this past year.I was thrilled when I walked in to Barnes and Nobel and saw it on the shelf.I snatched it immediately.

Too bad more people dont know about that show, how did YOU know about it? I knew about his other show he was in The Saint and am going to purchase that soon as well, but I never knew about that show The Persuaders though.

Its funny if not for a turn of fate,Moore would have been the first actor to have played James Bond because both Moore and Connery have both said that Moore was the one they inititally wanted because he fit the part the best but he had already signed on to do The Saint and was commited to THAT show so he had to bow out of it which opened up the door for Connery.

Just think,if Moore hadnt been obligated to do The Saint,he would have been the original James Bond that all other actors including Connery would have been meausured up against and I guarantee you it would be "Connery" that all the Bond fans would criticise all the time since the roles would have been reversed and he would have replaced Moore.Thats the only reason so many people dont like Moore is cause he replaced a legend and the original Bond that nobody wanted to see gone.

I mean come on,Moore was excellent as Bond and is an excellent actor.after watching the persuaders,he showed me what a versatile and flexible actor he really is in that he can do both drama AND comedy. The very first episode i saw of that show,he really surprised me cause he acted nothing at all like James Bond in that show and did things James Bond in that show showing expressions on his face you never saw as Bond and doing things Bond would NEVER do like dancing at a disco.lol.

since I know what your take on Lazenby is,what about Brosnan,do you also disagree with me on that one that he was horrible as Bond as well? I was so happy when Craig took over, anybody would have been an improvement over Brosnan. 😘 wish they had stuck with Dalton.

I wasn't a big fan of Brosnan's, but I am not convinced by Daniel Craig yet either.

so how DID you know about that show The Persuaders? It was never shown here in the states hardly ever since it was a british show and was never talked about either when they talked about Moore where they DID talk quite often about The Saint though back in the 70's and 80's when they would talk about Moore and his Bond movies. That was how I at least had heard of The Saint.

I am British and was lucky enough to grow up on a diet of all things Moore! My parents are both fans of his and we would sit down as a family and watch The Persuaders together every week.

damn you were lucky.btw, since you didnt care for Brosnan as Bond,I'll let it go that you like Lazenby and OHMSS.thats my compromise. 😄

Lazenby was a great Bond and I wish he had taken up the option to star in more of the films. His one and only entry is an absolutely fantastic film.

Amen. Lazenby is top 3 for me. I think he's tied with Connery if not slightly behind him. But, the deciding factor is Lazenby just has one great film. Connery has two great films, along with 3 solid ones. Therefore, I feel obligated to give the nod to Connery.
