Yes yes, obligatory pats on your own backs assuring everyone that you could never be fooled, but the rest of the turkeys were. The collective shock around the forum was palpable, however, making it a wildly successful prank.

Peach and Kaliero apparently had something big to do with it. Bada planted the seed months ago with vague warnings about possible closings. And I had a similar non-April-Fool's doomsday plan a couple years back that was scrapped, but I took a couple ideas from it and incorporated it into this. Blair and goob also helped with brainstorming. So it was a fun team effort, and shockingly effective on a lot of members.

"Staff members are well aware, that this section is one of the biggest draws that generates founds for the forum. However forum policy is having a problem with versus section, because an aggressive section such as this one, induces a member to lash out.
Its not the members that need to change. it’s the forum policy, no matter how hard you try. The nature of this section will never change. There for, the section should be trashed.
Who cares, if the forum losses money. Its not like any of the staff members are receiving pay checks for your services. And there are other, sites that can replace versus.
