I mean idk Obama was the target of numerous racial tirades that Trump took part in (birther stuff), called the literal antichrist by hardline Republicans, etc.

Trump mostly gets shit for the dumb shit he does, not exactly unfair when you say you're gonna take an anti-interventionist stance on foreign policy and then sell weapons to dangerous organisations and drop 'uge bombs on small encampments, or say you're going to replace Obamacare instantly with something better and then take ages and all you come up with is some elite-serving gibberish. Or, like, "executive orders are bad" ... signs more of them than anyone else. "Obama plays too much golf, I won't do that" ... plays more golf than Obama.

Trump's politics are pretty bad but it's his narcissism that's the real kicker – "I didn't realise being president would be so hard"

It's not just for the shit he does though, or sometimes it's for utterly stupid shit.

There is plenty of hypocrisy, 90% of what the the coverage of Trump was during the election was negative.

So no, Obama wasn't treated as badly, nor was Hilary. Obama was given passes on shit because he could take a nice family photo.
