Agreed, although I am pretty basic in my tastes unfortunately. I am drawn more to the martial arts oriented animes. I think a lot of their action sequences are beautifully done.

I used to watch DBZ like way back when but other than that I've never seen any of the shonen classics. My tops are like Evangelion, Paranoia Agent, Steins;Gate, Madoka and Bebop. I haven't seen that much overall but the ones I've watched have, to be fair, been chosen specifically to my tastes. Got a lot more to watch.

yeah, I dug Naruto, Ghost in the Shell, and Hunter x Hunter. Full Metal Alchemist was good as well. Cowboy Bebop is the bee's knees.

I really want to see the Ghost in the Shell series and FMA: Brotherhood, heard really good things about both of those. My mate really likes Hunter x Hunter so I might check that out too... when I finally get around to getting through all the other ones haha

Yeah Bebop is universally liked from what I have read. The only problem with Hunter is that manga writer has back issues and takes extended leaves of absence.

Bebop was my first anime, it's generally recommended as a first anime due to its high cross-appeal and general greatness. Makes sense, worked for me

Oh no I meant the original anime film. There's also a series called Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex that is meant to be great

Talking of anime films though, Akira is exceptional and very, very weird

Yeah, I enjoyed Akira a lot. It's another Anime that is widely considered to be amazing.
