i was thinking more about domesticated pets. an adult elephant's size and power are what entitle it to a life of no threat from natural predators, so it would not really help their cause to introduce nano-elephants into the wild.

If we're shrinking animals to make them cute nano-pets. Then I want a tiny wolverine, small enough were it's inherent ferocity won't matter. Maybe a pod of tiny whales to put in a saltwater aquarium.
