so as some of you may know my gf is a stagehand and last night she was working a show where she actually had to be on stage doing her job during the performance, and basically be a part of the show
in support of her i decided to check it out. some comedic one-woman play about a nun who stages a nativity scene etc etc yadda yadda yadda. Gf is one of her helper "elfs" and she basically has to dress this nativity scene
so the nativity scene gets underway and they're casting and dressing up all of these audience participants on stage, and everyone is delighted and having a good time
then they get to the part where they're casting the "little drummer boy".... and once I heard the nun on stage say "Do we have any drummers in the audience??" I saw my gf look DIRECTLY AT ME... so I raised my hand and the nun called me up on stage
it was fun being in front of that kind of crowd, and the nun gave me a WHOLE BUNCH of candy. i loved it.
such an odd night, though. I showed up and the people who were working the door just handed me a free ticket, so I was like "alright!"
i mean I had a comp ticket anyway, but still. it was like it was all meant to happen and i'm glad that it happened because it was a gas
