That's what happens when enough people get together and decide something is now hip and "vintage", the prices goes up, up and up some more! Hipsters as a collective are great at doing this and ruining everything.

BTW, I have a first gen Nintendo NES and first gen Sony PS, both have controllers and several games, I will sell them both to you for the very nominal fee of $18,456.00.
