i am 83% sure that david lynch threw up on a sheet of paper and had a blind person read the chunky bits and that was the plot.

also. i have seen lost highway over twenty three times. no idea how to explain it to pepple or myself understand it.

Twenty-three times holy ****

I've seen it like four or five times but that's a lot for me, I don't rewatch stuff more

I have a good theory for Lost Highway, I wrote about it fairly extensively for my dissertation, along with Eraserhead, Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive

I spent so long on that dissertation that now I have no choice but to believe my own interpretations of those films and their meanings

y'all ever heard of stickin' around?!

Isn't that the late 1970s TV show starring Jeremy Beadle and Neil Peart where they look at what drumsticks last the longest?

absolutely not

cracked did write s piece about it and that guy.

on how he has split personality and how the creepy guy is another version of him, the creepy guy convinces the others that he is a murderer by showing them the film. etc etc etc.

**** that movie. it makes no sense

My interpretation is that Fred killed his wife after finding out she had an affair and the film is Fred's mind slowly going insane and denying to itself that he killed her. The first half is him trying to imagine a scenario where he didn't do it and was framed, the second half is him straight-up forgetting his old personality and trying to create a new scenario where he's completely guilt-free. The mystery man appears with a video camera near the end because the camera represents objective truth – Fred says he dislikes cameras because he "prefers to remember things his way", as opposed to how they really happened. I see the mystery man as more of a force for good than bad as he spends the film trying to make Fred face up, so he's the part of his personality that knows that he's done.

The end of the film, with him jolting, is him being executed on the electric chair, so he dies without every accepting what he did.

Seriously though Lynch is ****ing insane so I don't believe my interpretation as face because I know he often just likes ****ing with people

Did you see the new Twin Peaks?
