As an actual mayor, however, I generally feel that Khan is doing a good job, so he can say what he wants as long as he keeps things going along at a decent pace. Boris was actually a decent mayor too – London feels a lot safer on the whole since he did his stint, although I do think his gentrification went too far, and he often sold off parts of the city to Russian oligarchs and the like. But that's just classic Toryism – sell off everything you can, don't give a damn penny back to the masses, and claim it's all in the name of 'free trade'. Scumbags.

As much as I disliked Cameron and his government's distinctly class-genocidal policies (which are still alive and well under May), this little bit kind of humanised him to me and I briefly felt strangely sad for him

I don't really take him seriously. But then, I don't take any of the options we had for president seriously.
