I've heard it's faithful to the original in the sense of a focus on the horror, not the comedy, so I'm really looking forward to that. As much as I enjoy Evil Dead 2, I feel they went overboard on the comedy to the point of it not being scary at all.

Yep, the remake has almost no humor whatsoever.

Hmmm so maybe Evil Dead, Martyrs, Wicker Man, Conjuring, TX Chain Saw, IT. Should be able to fit them all in

I'm pretty okay with gore these days, will Martyrs challenge me at all? I've kind of put off watching it for ages due to it supposedly being a tough watch towards the end

You missed the best horror movie of all. The Thing (1982)

I watched that fairly recently, one of my faves easily

I need to get a new DVD copy of it, my one is old as shit and looks kind of naff, and seems to be in the wrong aspect ratio

Gonna end the Marathon with LIfefoce... ooh Matilda May!!!!!!!!!

Wish my coworker could eat one meal without all the slurping noise

Turns out The Thing was still in my amazon basket so I bought it woop, I can watch Blair smash up the control room in F U L L H I G H D E F I N I T I O N

stop bashing your coworkers online. that's unprofessional

It might, been a while since I've seen it, but it wasn't the gore that is unsettling so much as the context and the ideas behind it. The movie as a whole is pretty unsettling.

A great film but is it better than Eraserhead, me not think so. For laughs I still think Basket Case takes some beating.

I've only seen snippets of Eraserhead. Do need to remedy that some day.

Iirc, it's one of the most profitable films in film history, budget to earnings wise.

Eraserhead is truly disturbing, it's basically a film that can be summed up in a single word, "wrong". It just creeps you out.

Alright, I'll add it to my digital library and get on watching it.

I won't say enjoy because you won't, for full effect watch it when tired and a bit depressed.

Eraserhead is awesome. Feels like a fever dream.
