One specific story: we used to have a recliner in the back of my basement. A blanket was kept on it. One time I saw her sitting in it and the blanket appeared to be on her lap.

I love ghost stories because I believe all of them yet somehow still don't truly believe in ghosts

Both my parents had the same interaction with what they describe as a ghost in the same specific place at different times

Seems like some sort of navy blue dress. But other people have seen her and she had a more spectral appearance and didn't seem physical.

They both passed a figure on the stairs in this place nearby our house when it used to be some kind of squat / art house / club in the '80s. They weren't even together when the experiences happened iirc

The best ghost story I heard in real life was about my mate Jeung's house. Jeung saw this girl in the reflection of the bathroom mirror at some point, she was a victorian-dressed young girl with a frilly dress. She only appeared briefly, and then disappeared. He didn't tell anyone about this until after the next part, though.

Our friend, Couch (these names are fake btw), stayed over at Jeung's house, and he had this weird dream / sleep paralysis about a girl / young woman trying to suck his soul out and doing the usual hag syndrome thing of sitting on his chest and stopping him breathing.

Couch told Jeung about it in the morning, and their descriptions of the girl matched, only the age was slightly different (she was younger in Jeung's vision of her in the mirror). The clothes were the bit that freaked them out the most – specifically the description of the dress as 'frilly'.

Weird that the old lady changed between spectral / physical depending on the person. I guess there are people who can't see them at all though so idk

I've never seen a ghost, only been patted on the head by one when I was 3 and was wearing this specific hat
