I've been dealing with doctors for many years now, sometimes you have to give them a nudge. I'd say call your nurse tomorrow morning, as soon as the place opens. Explain to her your concerns and ask for a reason why you have to wait weeks to speak to a head nurse. Tell them that if something is wrong the sooner you get treatment the better.
Or try to directly get a hold of your doctor or ask to have him call you when he has a free moment. Leave messages for the nurse if they don't answer.
