RE: The rise of right-wing populism, I have many opinions on that, but my main answer would be that modern society tends to veer between liberalism and authoritarianism at different stages, and right now, extremism is rife, on both sides. Socialism and pseudo-fascism are both getting quite popular, and it's just too strange and complex to fully disseminate for me without the need for several long-form conversations. It's fascinating, though.
