Full disclosure: I laughed, then I felt bad about it

So last Saturday we began our e-scooter program, which is being given a trial run of 4 months.

This is great timing, it'll last the entire summer and they are perfect for someone like me to be able to easily get around downtown Chicago.

Just getting those, odd, would have thought a large metropolitan city like Chicago would have had those long ago. I live outside of SF, but pay-as-you-go eScooters have been a thing for years there.

We had this bike program.

Yes I drive, but you have to realize downtown Chicago is not best navigated by a car unless you wanna pay a ton for parking. This is why most people who live downtown do not own cars. For those who do not live downtown it is easier to take the L to get there.

SF started with that too, long ago. I think they still have it as well along with what looks like one of those "hover boards" but with a post and handle bars.

Fair enough, never been and SF is also a pain in the ass to park in, why so many people there don't bother with a car and just do ride sharing and/or short-term rentals.
