Yes I drive, but you have to realize downtown Chicago is not best navigated by a car unless you wanna pay a ton for parking. This is why most people who live downtown do not own cars. For those who do not live downtown it is easier to take the L to get there.

SF started with that too, long ago. I think they still have it as well along with what looks like one of those "hover boards" but with a post and handle bars.
Fair enough, never been and SF is also a pain in the ass to park in, why so many people there don't bother with a car and just do ride sharing and/or short-term rentals.
