Christianity gets the shit end of the stick these days. It's sad seeing how a philosophy that crucially helped to build the backbone of Western moral society is being diminished, torn apart, shunned and increasingly marginalised.
It's something interesting I've witnessed. In a country where Christians are the majority it is more frowned upon to bash Islam than Christianity. I can't think of a single muslim majority country where it's more acceptable to shit on Islam than Christianity.
I am reminded of the "it's bad to rape" pamphlets they had to hand out to refugees. It was somewhere in Europe I don't think it was your country. Maybe Germany.

But yeah it is weird how Christianity is basically fair game right now, but criticism of Islam is social suicide. I'm not a fan of it at all. Tim Farron got torn apart by the media for being a 'homophobe' because he said his stance on gay marriage was just that of his faith, despite that he also said he didn't judge gay people for what they did with their lives as it wasn't his place. The mainstream left shat on him for it and basically ruined his credibility. I saw lots of my left-wing friends calling him a bigot and the like, despite the fact that if it were an Islamic politician being asked his opinions on gay marriage, they'd probably say the question was 'racist' or something. In fact, the media would never ask a Muslim politician something like that.

What they won't say out loud: Christianity evolved with the times(albeit slowly and stubbornly) and Islam didn't.
Christianity is capable of changing whilst keeping its faith. But because the Koran is the literal and unerring word of god, it's incredibly hard to reform it. Luckily in the UK we have peeps like Maajid Nawaz trying to take things forward. The guy is a bastion of hope for Muslim integration into Britain and I have a great deal of respect for him.
But of course shit like this happens:
