When we took my dog Louis, my brother said he’d take him because my dad couldn’t face it but when we got there my brother said he couldn’t and went to car to cry, so I stayed cause I couldn’t leave him. So I just stroked his face and told him what a good boy he’d been and that he could rest now and it was all gonna be ok until he’d gone.
I wish I got my dog Rosie's ashes. I was not there when she was put down because I would have never let them do it, I would have stopped them before they put the needle or whatever in, I could never watch someone kill my Rose. In the end her back legs were bad she couldn't walk. She wasn't in pain she just couldn't get around so I would carry her everywhere and this was a medium sized dog. This was a while ago I did have back issues back then as well, but not as extreme as now, but it still caused pain to carry her but I didn't. My parents saw what it was doing to me and said it was best she get put to sleep.
I kept her collar though.
