@stringer, watched a documentary on the US's welfare system/problem years ago: What several recipients on it said, why work when the jobs they could get would only pay them slightly more than the government does for doing nothing. eg Earn $500.00 a week working or $450.00 for doing nothing, they pick the later.

IMO, this is one of the main reasons the US needs to completely overhaul our welfare system, it's a complete mess. Remember hearing about the woman who has like 14 kids and keeps having more solely for the welfare payments?
