when I was in catholic school corporal punishment was in full effect

it never helped. I think kids were far more unruly than in public schools

I don't know what you mean by normal school. We have free public school here. Prestigious private schools cost a lot of money. Private schools like mine where the only real difference is they teach religion also cost money, but not so much you need to be very well.off to afford.

I got smacked on the behind on several occasions in kindergarten and 1st grade before transferring to public grammar school, and I was one of the well mannered kids

Yeah all uk schools have uniforms.

Our skirts were measured by the principal sometimes and were not allowed to be over the knee or too long either

okay so maybe I flipped the bird to the virgin mary statue during morning prayers, but I had no idea what it meant and was only imitating a classmate who was doing it as well.

this one girl who i was friends with decided to get tough and try and pull the kindergarten teachers' punk card...an old nun. big mistake. got picked up by her hair and smacked in the face. shit was crazy

I used to have a teacher in pre school that would smack us with the ruler

We were like 5

She wasn’t allowed to and I even thought maybe I’d made it up

Until a kid from my pre school went to my high school and I asked him If he remembered it and he confirmed it happened
