Yeah, the best steak I ever had was in Normandy and back then I had it medium because I didn't know medium rare existed. It's not much difference tbf.

And I know, Europe is better all round but my god. Italy even makes the trash food gourmet!

It might be American influence or more likely, London guilds protecting our own products. Tbh, I love fish and chips, pukka pies, BARR drinks and Greggs.

Still, it's not so much that we have crap food, it's more that we can't do european food good. We've somewhat got asian food down, but just barely.
