It's the entire point of the show.

Not to mention that South Park is set in a distinctly absurd and bizarre world. Other than the Rape Monster and the ghost of Duke Ellington, Big Mouth is roughly a normal world. South Park has Cthulhu, Garrison as Trump, Heaven and Hell (plus Gay Satan), Imagination Land, saying 'shit' too many times releases a Medieval army, Man-Bear-Pig, aliens...

The whole show is weird and insane, and they tackle topics using controversial humour.

Big Mouth was invented with the explicit purpose of the writer getting to get his rocks off writing kids being sexualised. It's creepy as ****, its very existence is disturbing.

Also the South Park kids are not written with the intention of being realistic 10-year-olds. There's rarely a point where you feel they're meant to actually represent actual children. Whereas, Big Mouth purposefully tries to posit the characters as actual children every opportunity they get.
