I've even eaten raw chicken before and have been fine. This isn't the dark ages where it's from some dodgy weirdo down the street. We have regulations ffs.

SIL’s stepdad is rly getting on my ****ing nerves

This may be a long rant

So they bought a penthouse apartment.. 4 flights of stairs up, in a building which has no lift.. when they were in their 70s..

Her stepdad already had mobility issues and everyone told him it was a mistake but he said it would be fine

Now he continually declines offers to come out because his legs are bad and he doesn’t want to do the stairs

So he instantly declined coming to Christmas this year even tho they’re in the support bubble and haven’t been out since October so would be fine

This means my SIL’s mum can’t come either because she won’t leave him alone for Christmas Day

And we all know she is probably really angry at him for this because she loves that day and puts a lot of effort in for it

And now because the rest of us are still going ahead with Christmas Day, and my brother and SIL have already bought food for everyone, he just said “oh so looks like plans are being made for 25th, does this mean we can’t get our Christmas Day in say February?”

Like he expected all of us to cancel our Christmas just cause he won’t come

And I told him lockdown is likely to last until Easter anyway and it would probably actually be safer now to come for Christmas than to leave it later in the year as we don’t know how this mutant virus is gonna take hold

But now he’s asking for a ZOOM Christmas

Ugh!!!!!

Tl;dr SILs stepdad is ruining Christmas

Every now and again I get a real burst of sadness over not getting to go see Welshy for New Years and just want to cry
