You can definitely skip to something like C++ I'd you'd feel more comfortable with that but it's a different kind of beast.

So you think you'd enjoy making websites, making them look good, making them work good behind the scenes or makes desktop apps/games?

You could probably switch to learning Ruby and Python and it would be more beneficial I think.

I dunno, that's a good question, I realised that I'm 'learning to code' without any idea of what job I'm looking at so I'm trying to figure that out now

I essentially want a job where I'm not being particularly creative and just inputting / changing stuff on command, but a lot of these websites are saying I should be creative

I have a weird draw towards Python for some reason so maybe I should check that out and see how I gel with it

I suppose desktop and phone apps and games can be pretty lucrative if you have the right idea for something simple that has selling power

I was thinking of making one of those games where you just click one button over and over again to win but make it Lovecraftian, but that requires someone who can do art

Python sounds good for that. Those kinds of jobs people like to call code monkeys. You can absolutely find that type of job. I forgot tot touch on it but definitely also learn git and how to use github. It will add another layer of confusion but it's a must now a days. Learning version control will be a must in any job. Don't worry about not knowing git in and out. My coder friends have said no one really understand it. Knowing the basics is plenty good.

This sounds like an idle/incremental type of game.

Yeahhhhh man code monkey is what I'm looking for. Something without the stress of being expected to get promotions and stuff. I just want something decent that pays enough for me to live on my own and stuff

Awesome, I'll go straight to Python then, and check out Ruby after. I'll also check out GitHub too so I have an idea of what I'll be dealing with once I have a grasp on the basics.

I appreciate this feedback mandemus, it's a big scary world of code and hard to know what direction to go a lot of the time

maybe i should kicke scribs

i feel like kicking someone
