My thesis was the NGC 6744 was the antimatter counterpart to the milky way. Every particle in your body has an anti particle there that creates false positive readings. Essentially this is why people of a lineage that were specifically designed to wait longer and longer before having kids caused the population to have longer lifespans in recent years. Aging has two well documented factors, the average of how old your parents were when they had you and how much older they were when they hit puberty have positive impacts on your longevity and there are control lineages to compare.
The idea is that when the anti particles at NGC 6744 compose similar biological organisms to us that exist in later generations relative to us is that our parents hitting puberty and begin making zygote and sperm cells here, it causes our dopplegangers there to create false positives in dna replication there, creating an entangled mutation in us here that we experience as aging. The 76.2 year time gap would be due to time dilation as our galaxy has more dark matter than does NGC 6744. In '93 here the date would be 2039 in NGC 6744's version of earth.

I've found the Folding Space approach to be more realistic than FTL travel. You don't travel to the location, you bring the location to you.
