I've met people who've been raped who didn't have their personality die or w/e, that's a weird way of putting it
Any trauma changes you, it doesn't kill you, it just malfeasantly shapes you, but plenty of people survive trauma and retain or restore their 'original' personality or even found out that, to paraphrase Nietzsche, what didn't kill them made them stronger
