If we went the quickest way it'd take 4 and a bit hours but I thought we'd be adventurous. When we got to Southampton it was getting late and I wanted to be home before dark so we went straight up to the motorway from there. Originally I was planning to go through Salisbury and head towards bath and possibly have a look round there before going home.
