Why is NH and Iowa so important ??Why not Virginia
The primaries are based on delegates, runners need 1,215 to get the party nomination. There's a total of 2,429 Republican delegates.
Every time someone wins a state, they either get all the delegates in winner take all states or a percentage of the delegates, in states that go in portions.
There's still plenty of delegate votes since it's only been two states, but if Haley couldn't win in NH, she likely won't be doing much better in deep Red states. I hope she stays in for as long as possible, if only to hurt Trump.
Trump currently has 32 delegates out of 1,215 needed.
