Egg prices have risen due to COVID. White eggs were considered lesser quality than brown eggs and were therefore cheaper, but COVID made everyone realise they were the same in terms of nutrition and risk of spoiling. Due to capitalism, instead of lowering the price of brown eggs, they raised the price of white eggs. More money, after all. Although, in my experience, the white eggs are larger on average, but that's anecdotal.
