I suggest picking up Skeleton crew, it's a collection of King's short story's, some of them are really good.

It also contains the mist, such a good story that.

You know I've never actually read that, been meaning to for a while, I was going to buy it at one point but it was a split between getting IT/Salem's lot/Shining...so I think you can guess how that ended up.
