What in the ****?

Are you just doing this to vent some ****ing anger? I've already dropped the issue, I've accepted the fact that I was wrong, even while having the discussion, I just told you why I believed otherwise.

If your wife, her parents and her siblings told you the correct way to spell hospital in Dutch was ''siekenhuis'' and I came in telling you that the correct spelling is actually ''ziekenhuis'' would you just say ''Okay, you're right.'' without even doubting me?
Well, in German we do have an authority on it though...but why are we even arguing about that?

What?

You think the Dutch language have no rules and is just uncontrolled jibberish? You think there's no correct spelling or grammar in Dutch? You think we have no Dutch dictionaries or anything?

The thing is, I've accpeted the fact that I'm wrong, I just tried to explain where my mistake came from. No idea why this is so hard to comprehend, and why it's still an issue.

No, I am just pointing out different approaches, i.e. having an authority that determines how to spell something correctly as in France or Germany (to a lesser degree) or not as they do in English. That doesn't mean it has no rules or is gibberish...they are just more fluent and change through usage.

But, we do have an authority on it. ''Siekenhuis'' is incorrect, that's the point that I was trying to make. If everybody told you something that's wrong is right, you wouldn't just accept it if someone came a long and told you that what you've been thought is wrong.

but what point do i have in lying to you on this matter?

Don't really get that.

Are you saying I lied when I told you I believed it was supposed to be Drechssau because a lot of German people told me to say it like that?

I'm not trying to say you did anything wrong. I'm just commenting on this difference in languages.

no but it sounded like you didn't want to believe me that it's actually Drecksau and not Drechssau just because your friends or whatever they are write it down otherwise..you know...the wrong way

this.... is stupid

I'm not saying you're saying I did anything wrong. I'm just saying your point is invalid, a bit. Because the discussion doesn't apply to languages alone. It could be applied to anything, cars or the mating process of the West Chinese tree-frog or whatever.

srug

yeah

Well, forget it, can't say I give a crap, and there's no reason to continue this anyway.

Also, I'm off.

do you need some time on your own?

sometimes i need some time all alone
