Why has the main site been completely abandoned?

Why has the forum software not been updated since 1984?

Not sure if the forum admin was also running the main site but he abandoned the forum

He has come back shortly every few years but still hasn't given anyone else admin powers

Recently there was a new owner, not sure if of the main site or forum but still nothing has changed

It's kinda depressing using software this outdated. Makes me feel like I've travelled back through time. And not to a cool decade.

I like the layout and stuff, if you could replace the software but keep the entire look of the forum I'd be fine with that, KMC Default 4 lyfe
