I've had multiple herniated discs, metal implants in my spine from a spinal surgery, and also nerve damage. I also received additional nerve damage as a complication from a surgery, but the way it was damaged doesn't cause pain it actually took away most feeling in the area. I can basically stab myself in the top of my right thigh and not feel it.I have so much metal inside me I require an IV in order to safely receive an MRI.
Made me think of that scene from Mr deeds where the butler stabs Adam Sandler's foot

My daughter has another surgery coming up in January. This time to finally correct her scoliosis. We had to put in a feeding tube a couple months ago, along with Nissen fundoplication to fix a severe hiatal hernia
The hernia, along with her reflux and Cyclic vomiting caused her weight to bottom out. 11 years old and only 47lbs. She couldn't keep food down. She had to go without food for 4 days after surgery so her stomach could heal up. Dropped to 42lbs. Now with the g-tube she has jumped up to 65lbs.
On the bright side, shes got awesome parents looking out for her.
