My "It's Music" Spotify playlist is something I've been throwing together as a way to track the new and interesting songs I've heard or "really dug" each calendar year. Beginning in 2012, the "It's Music" playlist's have, in size, swelled and shrunk and swelled again.

The number for the "It's Music" 2016 Spotify playlist is: 314 Songs.

This is a very selective group of songs, as it's the BEST OF THE BEST. The ones that have topped my personal charts during the year of 2016. The ones I consider amazing enough to listen to for the entire year.

Now is the time to move on to "It's Music" 2017. We bid farewell to songs like: "The Grobe" by Ween, and "Finger" by Ty Segall. But, as with every new year, we bring along the songs that were at the top of the "It's Music" list. The songs that got so much playtime that they deserve to be brought around for another year. Songs like "A Better Place" by Clipping., and "Me and Your Mama" by Childish Gambino. They join the first 2017 newcomer "This Town" by Frank Sinatra. So, we keep these songs on the playlist and the rest in our hearts, as if to say "Gone, but not forgotten!"

This is the Eulogy to my "It's Music!" 2016 Spotify playlist. May you rest in Power, Peace, Love, and Rock and Roll, and Sex, and Drugs, and Rock and Roll, and Peace, and Love, and Understanding, and Rock and Roll.

Here's to "It's Music!" 2017!!!!
