There is a really good new documentary series on netflix called "Five Came Back" that is produced by Spielberg and features the comments of several different directors (Del Toro, Spielberg, Coppola) and it's about 5 directors(Frank Capra, John Ford, John Huston, William Wyler, George Stevens) and their frontline work during WW2.
