It's actually both

Different regions say it differently

It's actually Pop, those that say Soda are wrong, mostly because I don't call it that.

it's pop

it's full name is soda pop
so thats why its called something different everywhere, but we mostly call it pop

In the South, we call every carbonated drink Coke.

For example:

"Want some Coke?"
"Sure"
"What kind?"
"Dr. Pepper"
