Only thing that really changed was that we lost, everyone but Mother is hurt, Carter is dying but he's talking to the guy downstairs that's trying to heal him while saying some interesting things about Cyclops that may make him want to kill Scott right now.

Well the man wasn't lying, he didn't have time to barter with him on something he couldn't do. It will take a month aka a different story arc for those powers to manifest when tries to get vengeance on Mr. Summers for all of the alleged evil he has done.
