Maybe, but I want to argue the Hunter until this unfolds some more. Hunter is packing a collapsable shield that blocks lightsaber weaponry.

YEah but Phantasy Star Universe is different to the Star Wars one.

So, how about the issue of the Force vs Techniques?

We all know what the Force is comprised of. Techniques are bought-and-learned abilities that are attached direcly to the user. They consist of skills like fire, freezing, lightning, light and instant kill spells as well as buffs and debuffs like ATP and DEF. Also there are mass healing, status curing and revival spells.
Quite a different taste to the abilities of Jedi/Sith.
