Eric felt out of place. He had since the incident in the lunch hall. So he had done what he always does when things got weird: he disappeared. Only this time, it was a lot easier. While he was thinking those thoughts, he had shrunk, until he was once against the minuscule height when he came to this place. When the young man had finally realized what had happened, he couldn't help but have a panic attack, because now he had no leg to latch onto, and he was left more alone than he had ever been.
The fear that gripped him made shone through his afterglow with a frantic and rapid pulsing of black and white, almost as if he were a one-man rave party. For all the intensity of his glow, however, he was too small for anyone to notice. It seemed like hours before he had finally calmed himself down to a point where he could think rationally.
"Okay Eric," he muttered to himself as he traversed the massive landscape of a floor tile, "you got yourself out of this situation once before, you can do it again. You just have to think." So he thought. The flea-sized giant thought and thought, and continued thinking. He had already figured out that his glow was affected by his emotions, and if that oddity was affected, perhaps others were, too.
"If it's about controlling my emotions, then once I get a grip, I should be able t-whoa!" He interrupted his own musing as he realized that he was growing. He came to an abrupt stop in this process, however ,and found himself no bigger than a five year old. The results put a knowing grin on his face, however, and murmured to himself triumphantly, "Now we're getting somewhere."
That was then, this was now. Like the others, he had been awed by the massive training room, but unlike them, he viewed from an even greater scope than they could. He couldn't help but snicker as looked to his left from where he sat on Bailey's right shoulder, so light she could not even feel his presence. When the training began, however, he was thrown loose as the others jumped into the fray.
Through the air he soared, landing inside a massive jungle of greasy tangles. It took him a moment to realize he was on the head of one of the creatures, and he quickly got off, just as it was taken down by one of the others. He couldn't tell where he was, the world was a jumble of massive shapes before him. He took a deep breath for a moment, surveying his surroundings.
"Alright," he muttered to himself, "time to see just how big things can get." He was confident; he knew what to do now. As he stood within the mass of enemies, he felt his body almost straining against itself. He wasn't doing a gradual growth, that would get him surrounded and for sure. This had to be fast; it had to be unexpected.
"NOW!" he heard himself yell, but not in the high pitched tin of his shrunken voice. His voice of deep, a massive baritone bass that shook the ground, as he himself stood towering above what once had seemed like giants himself. He looked down at all the sprawled out bodies that had been knocked aside from his transformation, and he laughed, the deep rumbling making the ground tremble. I could get used to this...
