"Hey! Hello?! Can you guys hear me? I can't believe this is happening!"
Eric felt like he was in a dream or, rather, a nightmare. He had just made it home from school and settled down at his desk to work on his latest assignment. It was a rather boring piece of work, and it was that very reason he wanted it done and over with. He didn't even stop to remove his personal belongings from his pockets. The next thing he knew, some strange light flashed before his eyes. Before he could figure what was going on, he had found himself surrounded by giants. The disturbing part, however, was that some of those giants looked familiar, like people he'd seen around school.
Not wanting to have been stepped on, he clambered up onto one of the giant's pant legs and clung on for dear life as strange, and also massive, creatures came out of nowhere and attacked his familiar giants. They somehow managed to defend themselves, and before long they were on their way to some strange palace, if he had heard correctly. Being so small, he could barely make out the sound of their voices, especially the deeper bass tones of some of the giant men. The group had been led somewhere, and the giant that had led them told them they were free to explore, or he thought he did.
"Hey! Hello?! Somebody!" Eric called out again, wishing in frustration that he was so small in this bizarre dreamscape. At that same instant, he suddenly realized that the pant leg he had been clinging onto so tightly was getting harder to keep a grip of. Oh no, he thought, if I lose my hold here, I'll fall! I don't know if the little me can survive that! So he scrabbled frantically to keep his grip, though it continued to get harder and harder. Finally, the fabric slipped from his grasp, and as Eric began to fall back, he shouted one last plea, "HEEEE-oop!" Only to land on the ground before the others. Without realizing it, he had actually grown to about the size of squirrel, and so the fall was not nearly as fatal as he expected, but it certainly hurt his backside.
"Oww," he muttered as he stood up, "what's with this place?" His frustrations were having another interesting effect, though one he was not yet aware of. His body was emanating a sharp, red light...
