First of all, not being on the level of Thor, is no shame. He is Thor after all. Second, didn't Ares recently stalemate Hercules in hand to hand combat, going blow for blow?

What has this guy done, to show that he is on Hercules' level much less Thor's?

He didn't show me anything to say he could beat the hell out of Ares. Sure, he would be able to dodge some his blows to a certain extent, but that's about it.
