How long are you going to keep making topics blabbing on about how good blu ray is and asking when people are going to change and so on...
I will keep buying dvds as long as they are avaliable. It's stupid to say there is no difference because there is a change in the quality of what you see on blu ray, but not enough to be important if you have a good television, and even an upscaling dvd player.
Still seeing it at a good cinema is still the best way in quality.
I am never buying another DVD, the VHS to DVD was a big step up, but the DVD to Blu-Ray was just amazing 🙂 All respect to the people that are not "quality" snobs and think DVD quality is just fine, but there are alot of people who have a stick up their behinds because they want to have all their movies on Blu-Ray but are angry about the fact that their DVD versions are inferiour to the Blu-Ray releases.

The difference between VHS to DVD was a lot compared to DVD to Blu Ray.
I do like your comment on the 'quality snobs' though, that seem to try to force and think they are superior to others who still watch DVD... idiots.
I do see great differance on my TV, and I think the film experience dose get alot better with Blu-Ray, but then again this is very subjective.
Also some movies like say a regular comedy (shall we say Monthy Python or perhaps American Pie) don't care too much about the quality there, but if it's going to be a movie like King Kong or Gladiator I would want that to be in Blu-Ray because of the superiour camera/effects, and say cinematography which is normally better in thse types of movies.
I definitely see way more of a difference from VHS to DVD, it's like night and day.
That said, I'm gonna keep buying DVDs. I don't wanna drop the cash for a Blu-ray player or PS3, plus the extra cost for Blu-ray discs. DVDs are much more affordable and much more plentiful. I can't even get a ton of the movies I'd want in Blu-ray, they're non-existent.

I go to the cinema for that.

IN terms of say picture quality? then the differance between DVD and Blu-Ray is even bigger then VHS to DVD. not just an opinion but fact.
1) No, that's not fact. Like, at all. Blue Ray is DVD with different quality. DVD from VHS was an entire reformatting.
2) "Quality snobs", huh? Hypocrite.
