I really feel like saying something about this but I don't know what to say. I was never a fan of Michael Jackson's music and the closest I ever came was owning Sonic the Hedgehog 3. I really disliked his sound, his reliance on synthesizers and theatrics, the fact that other people wrote his songs, and the 1980's Reagan bullshit culture he represented. On the other hand, everyone around me saw him as a pioneer who came up with brilliant songs and broke the color barrier on MTV and became an icon. Then he became a joke because of his bizarre behavior and alleged sexual leanings. The fact is that I genuinely respect his musical accomplishments (other than the Beatles thing and using the word klke in his song) because they inspired so many and feel sad about the truly pathetic life that he led. I mean if it wasn't this, everyone knew it would be suicide. Here was a guy who was very sick from a really young age who was raised by a bastard and a religious fanatic, two deadbeats who wanted to do nothing but milk their kids and count money and so he became an emotionally stunted, sexually confused weirdo. Even then, he was the victim of a double standard as for years his music was more or less black listed in much of the world while Gary Glitter, a white guy who's sex crimes record and personal appearance makes Michael look like Mr. Rogers was heard at every sporting event. I mean he was never even convicted and was more a product of his environment than a bad person. The guy had no friends, no real family, vitiligo, lupus, and psychological trauma that he tried to self medicate with drugs, surgery, and escaping into a childish fantasy that was more than likely a mild psychosis so if he ever did anything wrong I'm not sure he could be her psychologically responsible for his actions. I won't say I'll miss the guy since I never really cared about him one way or the other but it's awful seeing so many people upset, many of whom were his harshest critics. I guess if anyone is to blame for this it would be his family and sycophants, and maybe each of us as well for caring about pop star scandals more than what's going on in the rest of the world that actually affects people in a meaningful way and driving media sales accordingly. Maybe if back in 1994 we were all a little more interested in the Yugoslav genocide or healthcare reform or stopping NAFTA than in finding out about Michael Jackson's pee pee, he could have been quietly committed, gotten the help he needed, and come back on top and still be alive and much healthier today. Maybe this won't happen again if we can just turn off the TMZ, Nancy Grace, Neil Cavuto, and show biz tonight, and turn on some real news or at least a well produced tv show or looney tunes, we can stop this from happening again.
Yeah, I was sad to see that there were almost 3 complete pages of "jokes" before my first post in here.
The only reason you were "sad" about it is because you wanted to be the 1st to make a joke but you were too slow out the blocks.
It does bring up a point though. All the bullshit, insincere sentimentality is sickening. Yes, he was a great entertainer, Yes, he made some startlingly good music. But are most of the people on here that say they are sad and upset that he has died actually like that?...No...you'll type those words..close down your computer and get on with your normal daily routine....Maybe mention it to friends in whatever situation you find yourself in...and ironically, you or someone else will most likely make a flipant jokey remark that'll get a subdued chuckle. And that's it...The true reflection of MJ's effect on your life. Sweet FA.
So don't sit and try and justify your insincere bullshit by slating others who wear the fact that they aren't actually affected by his death on their sleeves. It certainly doesn't mean that we hated him or his music.

Probably due to the whole pedo thing and stuff, people accusing him of being a pedo anyways. His kids have gotta whole lotta money now he's gone...he's made millions. He even has his own theme park I think.

but yeah, his family's gonna get lots. unless he donated it to charity or something...

I think he was found not guilty, dunno why...may have been lack of evidence or he really didn't do anything...I'm not gonna jump to conclusions 😬
