Of course... man, I can remember those days. We all thought these games were the bomb... and they still are actually.

I'm surprised how much my kids are in love with all the new Super Mario games that come out. Essentially they haven't changed very much over the years.

Yeah the playability was king.
When 2D was all and all graphics lovingly hand drawn.. when music guys had to economise with only 4 sometimes 2 or 3 channel sound (including spot fx) to coax their masterpieces from...

Ghouls N Ghosts was another series that stuck to "If it aint broke" logic too.

Capcom made a more 3D version of Ghost/Ghouls n Ghosts for the ps2

Maximo

it still kept the old school gameplay for it too.

Sounds good.

I never actually got to play it.. will have to look out for a cheap copy..

PSP Ultimate Ghosts N Goblins was a worthy addition too...
'crazy bastard level' difficulty modes in it too...as one might expect from that series.

YouTube video
I have the Ghosts N Goblins, Ghouls N Ghosts and Super Ghouls N Ghosts arcade games on a capcom classics compilation too... Portable grooviness in abundance.

It was a pain in the ass with Ghouls'n Ghosts, When you got near the end of the game it sent you back to level 1.

Yeah it made you go back for that hidden crazy weapon you need to kill the demon finally. Does that in all the games. Brutal!
Capcom were bang on it back then.

Strider
Forgotten worlds
Final Fight
Streetfighter II
Bionic Commando
Side Arms
Black Tiger
The GNGs (obviously)
Captain Commando

Just a few of my other favorites from 'em.

I also relized that its very hard to find other chests too so, other ppl can post q's here if they need help.

.

They're screwing around with people nowadays with DLC and re-releasing a game and then re-re-releasing it again.

Sad to hear the 1st part.

As long as they do it well on the new formats..the classics should be preserved..

Been doing it with some of the recent fighting games, Street Fighter 4 and then they re-released as Super Street Fighter 4 and then Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition

then theres also Marvel vs Capcom 3 and then Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Yeah....caught a case of the lucas virus.

They do seem to have...

Hehehe

Same amount of CGI too. 😛
