Too much initial raw power, speed and skill in team 1 trumps Hulk's one-dimensional powerset, which, to compound this handicap, requires time to reach formidable levels. And while it's true that Thor -- the most versatile of the bunch -- could possibly buy that time using Mjolnir intelligently, as a rule, Thor doesn't, otherwise he would've beaten Superman in JLA/Avengers.
