Fantasia 2009 and Frighfest 2009

I don't know if anyone is near Quebec, or somewhere in the East of Ontario. If so, is anyone attending the Fantasia and what movies will you be seeing?

If you're in UK, or around that area, will you be attending Frightfest? If so what movies will you be seeing?

According to Film4, the Frightfest UK this year will be showing, amongst others -
The Descent Part Two, The Horde, Evil Things, It's alive, remake of Night of the Daemons...etc

Full list here - http://www.frightfest.co.uk/frightfestfilms.html

I would deffinitivelly love to see Night of the Demons and of course The Horde.
I have not seen the original, but I am looking forward to the remake.

At Fantasia, I will be seeing -

Mutants
Trick 'r Treat
Grace
Book of Blood
Dread
Deadgirl
Orphan
I sell the dead
Hinter Kaifeck
Graphic Sexual Horror
La possibilité d'une île

I have not heard nor do I recognise any of the other ones offered, although by some trailers, some of them look so good and amazingly hilarious. Infestation is one of them.

Orphan is one I've wanted to see for a long time.

Are you seeing The Horde at Frightfest?
It looks crazy.

Moi is not going to Fright Fest!

Pourquoi?! C'est criminale! Truc de fou! Non! Non!

I'm just busy around the festival time, not in London at that time. 🙁 I couldn't tell if you were calling me insane, or just it's insane lol!

Not you.

I'd never say anything bad to you! 😛

I dunno, Orphan just looks like a typical cappy Hollywood horror film for this gen again and again. It looks like nothing special.

The Descent: Part Two looks good though.

The Descent sequel was not needed at all.

As for Orphan, it was directed by the House of Wax remake director... but ignoring that, I hope it turns out good, I liked the look of the trailer.

I have also been looking forward to it. I don't know, it does seem typical, but I am expecting it to be good.

I am looking forward to movie Grace as well a lot - it looks disturbing. In fact, anything involving children has a certain level of creepiness which is always shocking.
Except the remake of the Omen..that was poo.

I knew with the the US version there was going to be a sequel anyways.

I didnt see the UK version where everyone dies.

Wait, in US version, someone survived and got out? What?

I should say North America version.

Yes, Sarah is still alive in the cave part 1.

Then escapes in part 2.

I do believe the two disc set has both endings on it.

See the trailer.

I had no idea! Just found this as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=714fcdTKGYA&feature=fvw

Seriously, British ending is so much more powerful. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but if you get a chance, I'd deff recommend it!

Thats the new happy ending.

I dont like the happy ending at all. The US are a bunch of wimps so they change it.

This is the one I saw when it first came out.

As Sarah flees, she hears Juno’s screams, which abruptly fall silent. Sarah falls down a hole and is knocked unconscious. Sarah awakens, scrambles up a huge pile of bones towards daylight, squeezes through a narrow opening onto the surface, runs to her vehicle and speeds off. Suddenly, Sarah sees Juno sitting next to her, her face streaked with blood. Sarah screams and awakens to find herself still in the cavern. She sees her smiling daughter close by and a birthday cake between them. The field of view widens to reveal that Sarah is hallucinating. The calls of the crawlers grow louder, but Sarah is oblivious.

Wait, this is the UK ending where she wakes in the cave? I though it was everyone dies at the end.....

So, I didnt see the US crap version and saw the UK I think.

Yeah, that is the ending in the UK. You don't actually see Sarah die, but as the camera zoomes out, you see the crawlers everywhere and hear them howling louder which implies she is killed as she is oblivious that she is still in the cave.
Also, as camera zoomes out you see Sarah through like an opening which as the camera zoomes out shows that she is in almost infinate 'nest' or 'beehive' of crawlers and there is really no way out.

Her further hallucinations imply she has gone insane due to the events and does not even know where she is, and therefore would not have fought against the imminent danger and certain death that awaits her.

Although I suppose we can argue that they could have even got away with making a sequal after that ending...you know?

Agreed, either way a sequel was going to get made, with this cliff hanger or the crap US ending.
